AM Group’s 1 GW AI Hub to Anchor Multi-Billion-Dollar FDI into UP

AM Group

Davos, Switzerland / Hyderabad, India — January 20, 2026

AM Group (AMG), a leading energy transition and advanced technology platform backed by the founders of Greenko Group, has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Invest UP, the investment promotion agency of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, to establish a 1 Gigawatt (GW) High Performance AI Compute Hub in Greater Noida.

The proposed AI infrastructure hub will involve a total investment of approximately USD 25 billion, making it one of the largest AI and digital infrastructure investments announced in India to date. The project will be developed in a phased manner, with the first tranche of capacity expected to become operational by 2028, and the full 1 GW capacity targeted by 2030.

The partnership reinforces AM Group’s commitment to building sustainable, carbon-neutral AI infrastructure and aligns closely with Uttar Pradesh’s ambition to emerge as India’s premier hub for artificial intelligence and digital innovation.

One of India’s Largest AI Infrastructure Investments

The Greater Noida AI Compute Hub will house nearly 500,000 next-generation high-performance chipsets, designed to support large-scale global AI workloads. The facility will cater to hyperscalers, frontier AI labs, enterprises, and India’s sovereign AI initiatives, enabling rapid and secure access to compute at unprecedented scale.

The project is aligned with the Government of India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, accelerating the country’s capabilities in AI-led services, digital public infrastructure, and next-generation computing.

Powering Global AI with Carbon-Free Energy

As demand for high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence workloads surges globally, the proposed hub will be powered entirely by 24/7 carbon-free energy, leveraging AM Group’s leadership in renewable power.

The facility will integrate wind, solar, and pumped storage solutions, ensuring round-the-clock clean energy supply and setting a new benchmark for sustainable AI infrastructure worldwide.

Democratizing AI: From Electrons to Intelligent Tokens

AM Group Connects Clean Energy and AI at Gigawatt Scale with UP MoU

AMG AI Labs is building an end-to-end AI value chain with a core mission of democratizing access to artificial intelligence. The company’s approach spans from efficient, on-demand electrons to the creation of “intelligent tokens”—the foundational inputs for customized AI models and applications.

These intelligent tokens will enable AI solutions across multiple sectors, including energy, healthcare, sovereign cloud infrastructure, manufacturing, automotive, media, and gaming. The compute hub will also provide chipset access to India’s developer ecosystem, helping accelerate innovation and AI solution development for both domestic and global markets.

Key Features of the AI Compute Hub

  • Scalable Infrastructure: Phased development with initial capacity operational by 2028 and full 1 GW capacity by 2030
  • Strategic Location: Situated in Greater Noida, leveraging Uttar Pradesh’s industrial corridors and progressive data center policies for low-latency, high-reliability connectivity
  • Green Energy Integration: Fully powered by 24/7 carbon-free renewable energy, including wind, solar, and pumped hydro storage

Catalyst for Economic Growth and Innovation

The MoU was exchanged in the presence of senior government officials and AM Group leadership on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos. The project is expected to attract significant foreign direct investment (FDI) and generate thousands of high-skilled jobs, while fostering a robust local ecosystem for hardware manufacturing, software development, advanced cooling technologies, and AI research.

Commenting on the announcement, Anil Chalamalasetty, Group Chairman, AM Group, said:

“Evolution of the global AI ecosystem with intentionality, intelligence, and adaptability will be a pivotal tool for current and future generations. AMG AI Labs’ focus on transforming electron agents into intelligent tokens is a natural extension of our technology-first approach as the global AI ecosystem races toward physical AI solutions.”

Mahesh Kolli, Group President, AM Group, added:

“By combining 1 GW of compute capacity with our 24/7 green power solutions, we are not just building a data center—we are creating a sustainable template for the future of global AI infrastructure, with strong support from the Government of Uttar Pradesh.”

About AM Group

AM Group (AMG) is promoted by the founders of Greenko Group, one of India’s leading renewable energy companies. AMG is developing globally differentiated platforms across molecules, materials, and AI technologies to enable industrial decarbonization and competitive tokenization at scale.

Greenko is building a 50 GW energy infrastructure platform across more than 20 Indian states, spanning solar, wind, hydro, and energy storage. The company is also developing the world’s first interconnected energy storage network with 100 GWh of storage capacity.

AMG is advancing low-carbon ammonia projects across India, targeting 5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of green ammonia capacity. Its under-construction 1 MTPA green ammonia plant will be among the world’s largest RFNBO-compliant facilities.

In addition, AMG is developing production capabilities for green caustic soda, e-methanol, olefins, biofuels, and sustainable aviation fuel, as well as establishing a 1 MTPA green aluminium production facility under its Metals & Materials platform.
